Taxi driver assaulted in Hlíðar neighbourhood
A taxi driver was assaulted in the Hlíðar neighbourhood on Monday, and the matter was resolved at the scene, mbl.is reports. The incident was included in a police log covering 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Police also received reports of a shop theft and a car break-in in Hlíðar. In the Bústaðir neighbourhood, a person was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and possessing drugs, and was taken to a police station.
In Garðabær, a driver was charged with using a mobile phone while driving without a hands-free device. In the Vellir neighbourhood of Hafnarfjörður, another driver was charged with driving under the influence of drugs.
A car was also broken into in the Breiðholt neighbourhood; that case is under investigation. In Grafarvogur, police found a suspected shoplifter at the scene after receiving a report of a theft.
In Árbær, a foreign man was arrested on suspicion of unlawful residence in Iceland. He was taken to a police station, and the case is under investigation.
