Rubio arrives in Iceland for talks on economic and security cooperation

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Iceland on Monday, landing at Keflavik Airport shortly before 6 p.m., mbl.is reported.

During his visit, Rubio is due to meet Icelandic officials. He accepted an invitation from Icelandic Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir.

The talks will focus on economic and security cooperation. Before departing for Iceland, Rubio called the country “a good friend of the United States.”
