Yle is seeking accounts from young drivers who have experienced harassment while driving a car displaying the new yellow-green marker required for underage drivers.
The rule took effect at the start of October and requires underage drivers to place the marker at the rear of their car. It is part of a reform to the driving licence law, which also bars 17-year-olds from driving between midnight and 5 a.m. The marker is intended to help police monitor compliance.
Young people told Yle they feared the marker could also lead to teasing and bullying in traffic. The broadcaster is asking drivers who have experienced harassment while using it to share their stories.
