The Sweden Democrats are proposing a major reshuffle of their parliamentary group, including new committee roles for several senior figures, SVT reports. Tobias Andersson, the former chair of the Industry and Trade Committee, is no longer the party’s leading nominee for any committee.

Martin Kinnunen is proposed as the party’s lead nominee for the Industry and Trade Committee, moving from the Environment and Agriculture Committee. Andersson is proposed as a member of the Education Committee. Henrik Vinge, the party’s first deputy chair, is moving from the Justice Committee to become the party’s lead nominee for the Finance Committee.

Other proposed changes include Oscar Sjöstedt moving from the Finance Committee to the Committee on the Constitution, and Ludvig Aspling leaving the Social Insurance Committee for the same committee.

The party’s press chief, Oskar Cavalli-Björkman, said changes before a new parliamentary term were a natural part of the party’s development. Several members would take on new senior responsibilities, which would be announced by Tuesday at the latest, he told SVT.

The list was sent to the parliamentary group on Monday. A Sweden Democrat with a senior position said it was the biggest change the party had made to its parliamentary group and that not everyone would welcome it. A source told Expressen that some of the committee moves amounted to people being sidelined.
