ADHD medication starts rise among boys aged 6 to 8

More boys aged 6 to 8 began ADHD medication last year, according to figures from Finland’s Social Insurance Institution, Kela, reported by Yle. The share rose to 3.1 percent, from 2.9 percent the previous year.
In total, 4,160 boys in the age group received ADHD medication last year, equivalent to 5.3 percent of all boys aged 6 to 8.
The share starting medication was highest in North Savo, at slightly more than 5 percent, and lowest in Helsinki, at about 1.5 percent.
