Suspicious people in Hafnarfjörður car turn out to be chat friends

Police responding to a report of suspicious people in a car in Hafnarfjörður found they were friends from a chat, mbl.is reported.

The incident was among 36 cases logged by police in the capital region between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Police stopped two drivers in Laugardalur. One was travelling at 120 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, while the other was driving at 90 km/h where the speed limit was 60 km/h.

A theft was reported at a shop in the Háaleiti-Bústaðir district and dealt with at the scene. Police also arrested a person suspected of burglary and theft in the area covered by the station responsible for Kópavogur and Breiðholt. The person was held in a police cell.
