Emergency services respond to capsized boat incident in Hvalfjörður, Iceland

Emergency services were alerted to a capsized boat in Hvalfjörður, Iceland, where a man was reportedly sitting on its keel. Rescue teams have been deployed from Akranes, Kjalarnes, and Reykjavík, along with a helicopter from the Coast Guard preparing to take off from Reykjavík.

Around 8 PM, Asgeir Erlendsson, a spokesperson for the Coast Guard, stated that rescue units were launching a boat in Hvalfjörður and the helicopter was close to departure. The Icelandic National Search and Rescue Association confirmed the mobilization of teams from the aforementioned regions as part of the emergency response.
