Tóra við Keldu tops vote in policyholders’ council election

Tóra við Keldu won the most votes in the election for the representative council of Ognarfelag Tryggingartakaranna, an association of insurance policyholders, KVF reported. She received 739 votes and is a new member of the council.
A total of 6,123 policyholders voted. Seventeen people were elected, including five women and 12 men. Six other newcomers were elected alongside við Keldu: Andrias Nielsen, Jutta Helgadóttir, Klæmint Klakk, Sólfríð Jacobsen, Johann Behrens and Hildur Eyðunsdóttir.
Twenty-one people stood for election. Ten candidates were already on the council and were re-elected. The representative council has 35 members.
The council organises the association’s general meetings, elects its board, approves its annual accounts and makes changes to its articles. Jens Johan Dam is chairman and Poula Michelsen is deputy chairwoman.
