Police still investigating mink farm break-in
The July break-in at Dalsbúi, a mink farm in Mosfellsdal, remains unsolved, police told mbl.is. Thousands of mink were released from their cages.
“The case is still under active investigation. We are still processing a large amount of data, and that takes a long time,” said Hildur Rún Björnsdóttir, a police inspector with the capital area police. She declined to say whether anyone is suspected.
Last month, police said they had solved break-ins and property damage at Stjörnugrís’s premises on Kjalarnes, Reykjabúið in Mosfellsbær and other farms in South Iceland and on Kjalarnes. A man in his twenties was arrested and admitted to those offences. Police are still processing evidence in that case, Hildur Rún said.
