Independence Party proposes 2.5% cap on fixed-amount taxes
The Independence Party’s parliamentary group plans to propose an amendment to the government’s budget bill limiting increases in fixed-amount taxes to 2.5%, mbl.is reports.
The proposal would mean the state contributes as much as it expects from others, party leader Guðrún Hafsteinsdóttir wrote in an article in Morgunblaðið.
“The government parties will have an opportunity to show through their actions that they want to do their part,” she wrote.
