Magnitude 3.3 earthquake strikes northeast of Grímsey

A magnitude 3.3 earthquake struck just northeast of Grímsey at 6:49 a.m. on Thursday, mbl.is reported.
Another earthquake, measuring 3.6, was recorded about 35 kilometres northwest of Grímsey at around 1:30 a.m. Several other quakes have been measured in the area in recent days, where earthquakes are common, according to the Icelandic Meteorological Office.
