Tickets for Finland’s 2027 New Music Competition, known as UMK, were reserved in record time after going on sale at 9am on Thursday, Yle reported. Tickets for the afternoon dress rehearsal were also snapped up, with only a few individual tickets still available.

The show will take place at Tampere Arena on 20 February 2027. It will feature seven competing performances, along with opening and interval acts. The winner will represent Finland at Eurovision in Bulgaria next May.

The artists competing in UMK will be announced in a live broadcast on Yle TV1 and Yle Areena on 13 January at 8pm. Their songs and music videos will be released between 14 and 22 January.

UMK has been held in Tampere since 2024, and its tickets have sold quickly each year. Interest in the competition is growing in Finland and internationally. Last year, nearly 20,000 people watched the show in person, with visitors coming from across Finland and 26 other countries.

Concerts at Tampere Arena can accommodate about 15,000 people, although the stage size can affect capacity. The UMK television broadcast reached 2.5 million viewers last February, making it Finland’s third most-watched programme of the year, after the Independence Day reception and the Eurovision final, according to Finnpanel.
