The Faroe Islands government has approved the construction of a new patrol vessel, which is expected to be completed in 2030, KVF reports. The project is estimated to cost between 300 million and 400 million kroner, according to the draft 2027 budget.
Four million kroner has been allocated in 2027 for preparatory work and design.
The patrol vessel Brimil will be out of service for 10 weeks in late summer 2027, partly to replace its propeller control system. The vessel Tjaldrið is to remain in service for at least four more years.
