Court convicts person of unauthorised handling of secret information

A person has been convicted by Solna District Court of aggravated unauthorised handling of secret information, SVT reports, citing a statement from the Swedish Security Service.

The court found that Sweden’s security would have been harmed if the information had reached a foreign power, the Security Service said.

The offence took place between 10 April and 28 May 2021. The person received a suspended sentence and 200 day-fines.

The Swedish Security Service conducted the preliminary investigation under the direction of a prosecutor at the National Unit for Security Cases.
