Crane collapses at Hakaniemi Bridge demolition site in Helsinki

A construction crane has collapsed at the demolition site of the old Hakaniemi Bridge. Jaakko Rekola, production manager at the Kruunusillat alliance, reported that the crane fell on top of the bridge intended for demolition.

As a result, work in that area must be halted until the site can be cleared and assessed. The crane was being used to remove sections of the bridge scheduled for dismantling. The cause of the accident remains unknown, but fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
