Woman no longer in danger after Kópavogur stabbing

A woman who suffered serious injuries in a stabbing in Kópavogur is no longer in life-threatening condition, mbl.is reports. A man in his 50s attacked her with a stabbing weapon in an apartment building two nights ago.

The woman, who is in her 40s, was initially in intensive care at Landspítali hospital but has since been transferred out of the unit.

The man was remanded in custody for four weeks, until October 27. Assistant Chief of Police Ævar Pálmi Pálmason said the investigation was progressing well.

The man and woman are both Icelandic. Police have dealt with them before. They had little connection but knew each other.
