Police end investigation into alleged assault at Tampere school

Police have ended an investigation into an alleged assault at Hatanpää School in Tampere last December, Yle reports. The case was investigated as assault.

The incident involved a TikTok trend known as “blessing”, in which a new haircut is praised. At the school, the practice reportedly included slapping someone on the back of the head or arm.

A relative of the pupil told Yle earlier that the pupil had been held down and repeatedly hit on the back of the head. The relative filed a police report.

Police said the suspected offenders were under 15. The investigation was closed in January 2026, and the injured party made no claims in the case. Police said no further similar reports had come from the school after the preliminary investigation.
