Former minister warns spending is outpacing revenue

Former government minister Bjarni Djurholm says public spending has grown much faster than revenue in recent years. He made the comment to KVF as the proposed 2027 budget is due to be presented.

“The pressure is mounting,” Djurholm said. He added that it would be interesting to see what the new coalition does to ensure future revenue matches spending.

Djurholm chaired the Løgting’s Finance Committee from 1998 to 2000, before becoming a government minister.
