Icelandair strike talks continue without progress

Talks between Icelandair and the Icelandic Aircraft Engineers Association were still ongoing shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, but had made little or no progress during the day, mbl.is reported.

“The talks are still going on, but I see no change,” state conciliator Ástráður Haraldsson told mbl.is about the collective bargaining negotiations.

No formal meetings between the parties had been scheduled by the state conciliator after their talks made little progress on Monday. Unless circumstances change, the aircraft engineers’ indefinite general strike at Icelandair will begin at midnight.

Haraldsson said continuous discussions had been taking place since the weekend.
