Prentmet Oddi takes over Héraðsprent and Egilsstaðir property

Prentmet Oddi has taken over Héraðsprent, a printing company in Egilsstaðir, along with the company’s 520-square-metre property, mbl.is reported.

Prentmet Oddi said the takeover creates a basis for continuing operations in eastern Iceland and providing services to the region. The company currently has facilities in the capital area and branches in northern and southern Iceland. It operates in more than 9,500 square metres and employs nearly 80 people.

The company provides packaging and printing solutions, and said residents of eastern Iceland will now have access to a wider range of its products.

Héraðsprent was founded in 1972 by Þráinn Skarphéðinsson and Gunnhildur Ingvarsdóttir in a small garage in Egilsstaðir. The company has operated from Miðvangur 1, in the heart of the town, for the past 25 years.

Like Prentmet Oddi, Héraðsprent is Swan-certified and has been known for good service and quality, according to the announcement.
