Police arrest 15 at abandoned allotment garden in Aarhus

Police arrested 15 people at an abandoned allotment garden in Aarhus on Tuesday morning and charged them with violating the peace of the home, DR reports, citing East Jutland Police.

The operation followed a request from Aarhus Municipality to clear the area after people moved in. According to TV2 East Jutland, several people had been living there for some time.

Four people were in trees and refused to come down. They were brought down with the help of a crane.

The area lies between Åbrinken and Brabrandstien. It is owned by DSB Ejendomme and Aarhus Municipality, which plan to build a park there in the longer term.

East Jutland Police said they would remain at the location with municipal officials for some time after the arrests.
