Man detained after alleged attempted apartment break-in in Kópavogur

Capital-area police detained a man after he allegedly tried to break into an apartment in central Kópavogur, mbl.is reports. He was released after speaking with police.

Police also responded to an assault in the same neighbourhood. The victim suffered minor injuries, while a man who appeared to be under the influence was arrested and held in a detention cell.

Shoplifting was reported at two stores, one in Árbær and the other in Mosfellsbær. Both cases were handled at the scene.

In Mosfellsbær, police stopped a driver and found that he had been deprived of his driving licence. Another driver was stopped in Breiðholt on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and was released after a blood sample was taken.
