More than one in five Nordic young people drink energy drinks daily

More than one in five young people in the Nordic countries drink energy drinks at least once a day, while three in five consume them at least once a week, Yle reported, citing a study funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Nearly half of the young people surveyed said they could not always get through the day without an energy drink.

Consumption was highest in Sweden, where three in four respondents drink energy drinks at least once a week and 28 percent do so daily.

Finland differed from its neighbours, with one in four respondents saying they had started drinking energy drinks before the age of 12.
