Finland will have mild, mostly dry weather suitable for outdoor activities at the start of the week, before the chance of rain increases from Thursday, Yle meteorologist Aleksi Lohtander says.
Sunshine is expected in most parts of the country at some point during the first half of the week. Lohtander encouraged people to enjoy the autumn colours in the sun.
On Monday, central and northern Finland will turn dry after Sunday’s rain and storm. Southern parts of the country will see showers, with thunderstorms possible in some places, although sunny spells are also expected. Temperatures will be around 10 degrees Celsius in the north and 15 degrees in the south.
High pressure will strengthen on Tuesday, bringing dry weather across the country, with occasional sunshine. Temperatures will remain between about 10 and 15 degrees.
Light rain may reach eastern and northern Finland on Wednesday, although much of the country will remain sunny. The chance of rain will increase nationwide from Thursday onwards, while temperatures will stay broadly at the same level.
