Faroese education launches artificial intelligence strategy

Kringvarp Føroya reports that a new artificial intelligence strategy aims to help the Faroese education sector use the technology appropriately and make it an effective, integrated part of teaching at educational institutions.

The strategy was presented on Thursday and is organised around four areas: teaching and learning, assessment and examinations, skills development, and research and dissemination.

Projects under the four areas are intended to meet specific targets set for 2027, 2029 and 2032.

Assessment and examinations are identified as one of the most pressing areas.

Eyðun Gaard, director of Nám, chairs the steering group that prepared the strategy. Bárður á Lakjuni, the minister for cultural affairs, also attended its presentation.
