Supo overhauls strategy as security environment grows more tense
Finland’s Security and Intelligence Service, known as Supo, has renewed its strategy to better support foreign and security policy decision-making, Yle reported on Friday.
Supo said the strategy was updated because a tense and complex security environment has increased the importance of forward-looking and analysed intelligence. Technological development and the growing volume of data have created both challenges and opportunities for the service.
Its vision is to become, by 2030, a nationally indispensable and internationally respected producer of intelligence.
Supo has also reorganised its operations by establishing a new strategy department. The department will accelerate and ensure the implementation of the changes.
