Convicted man seeks Supreme Court review of Sandá attack case

The man convicted of attacking a woman near Sandá has applied to take his case to the Supreme Court, according to Kringvarp Føroya.

The application was submitted to the Process Permission Board, which decides whether cases may be brought before the Supreme Court.

The man was convicted by a jury in the Court of the Faroes and by the High Court of attacking the woman on a street near Sandá on April 28, 2024.

He was sentenced to preventive detention, permanently expelled from the Faroe Islands and ordered to pay the woman 200,000 kroner in compensation. He denies guilt.
