Kringvarp Føroya reported Wednesday that parliament member Bjarni Kárason Petersen is dissatisfied with Minister for Business Affairs Jacob Vestergaard’s response on the boundary between leaseholders’ right of disposal and other public and societal interests.
“You cannot tell whether the answer comes from the administration or from a lawyer in town,” Bjarni Kárason Petersen said.
In comments accompanying his question, the Framsókn member said there was a perception in the public sphere that holding state land under lease gives the leaseholder extensive control over all values located on the holding.
He wants clarification of the fundamental boundary between the leaseholder’s agricultural right of disposal and other public powers and societal interests that may be connected to the same area.
Jacob Vestergaard answered all the questions in a single response. Petersen said he was not satisfied and questioned who had written it.
