Russian frigate fires flares at Danish military helicopter near Gedser

A Russian frigate fired two flares at a Danish Air Force Fennec helicopter during a routine flight near Gedser, DR reports, citing the Danish Defence.

The helicopter was photographing the frigate, which was sailing in international waters off Gedser, when the flares were launched. One passed close to the helicopter.

Flares are pyrotechnic devices normally used as attention signals at sea. The Danish Defence said it had no further comment.
