Icelandair engineers announce indefinite strike from September 23

Aircraft engineers represented by the Aircraft Engineers’ Association of Iceland have announced an indefinite strike at Icelandair starting at 12:01 a.m. on September 23, 2026, mbl.is reports.

Icelandair said in a notice to the Iceland Stock Exchange that unless the airline and the union reach an agreement on a new collective agreement before the strike begins, the action is likely to disrupt its operations and affect its flight schedule.

The company said it was not yet possible to assess the potential financial impact of the strike on Icelandair Group.
