9th-grade exam results reveal wide gap between schools

Results from this summer’s 9th-grade final exams show major differences between schools, DR reports. The national average in compulsory exam subjects was 7.3, while 10.5 per cent of students left 9th grade without passing both Danish and mathematics.

The results have now been compiled for the students who completed 9th grade this summer. The figures allow parents to see how their children’s school performed.

The results come after a PISA assessment published last week found that 15-year-old students had never performed worse in reading and mathematics. The findings have sparked a broad debate about the public school system.

The four government party leaders have since said they want a total ban on screens in schools. They also plan to establish a tripartite process involving school leaders, teachers and other stakeholders to reform the public school system.
