Finnish neo-Nazi implicated in organizing anti-immigrant riots in United Kingdom

A young Finnish neo-Nazi has been implicated as a key player in organizing anti-immigrant riots in the United Kingdom. These riots, particularly intense last weekend, erupted following the fatal stabbings of three girls in Southport. British media reports that the alleged assailant is a British-born teenager from a Christian family of Rwandan descent.

The riots were primarily planned in groups on the Telegram messaging app, where a Finnish man served as an administrator for one of the most notable channels, which once boasted 14,000 members. Within this group, participants coordinated attack targets and tactics. The Finnish man distributed instructions for arson, which reportedly originated from a Russian-Ukrainian neo-Nazi group, calling it “fun reading.”

This administrator, now in his twenties, has run his own pro-Nazi Telegram channel since 2020, when he was still a minor. He publicly claims he does not advocate violence but simultaneously calls for the “destruction of cursed Jews.” The man identifies as a National Socialist and frequently glorifies Adolf Hitler in his posts.

The recent riots in Southport appear to have increased the Finnish man’s influence, significantly broadening the audience for his extremist material. Although he has not been convicted of any serious crimes, he was previously under police investigation for his involvement in other offenses, which did not lead to charges. He has acknowledged that his activities surrounding the riots would likely attract attention from authorities.

The unrest spurred by the Southport stabbings was fueled by misinformation spreading across social media, including accusations against alleged refugees and Muslims. Investigations into incitement related to the riots are ongoing, with some individuals facing charges for their provocative online posts.
