Motorcyclist dies after crash in Kouvola

A motorcyclist died in a traffic accident in Kouvola on Sunday, Yle reports. The crash happened at the intersection of Sippolantie and Alaportintie in Sippola.

Police said their preliminary assessment was that the motorcyclist collided with a rock face at high speed. The rider died at the scene.

No one else was involved in the accident. Police, rescue services and emergency medical services were notified at 4.05pm on Sunday, September 13.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident. The case is currently being investigated as a death inquiry.
