Aircraft engineers at Icelandair have been voting on strike action since Friday, with the ballot due to close around noon on Monday, mbl.is reports.
Óskar Einarsson, chairman of the Icelandic Aircraft Engineers Association, said turnout had so far been good. If engineers vote in favour, an indefinite strike would begin in 10 days.
“I expected good participation because the vote is conducted electronically. It is sent directly to people, so they should not be able to miss it,” Óskar told mbl.is.
He said the results were expected later on Monday. Óskar has described the vote as an emergency measure, as the engineers have been without a collective agreement since the beginning of the year.
