Work Environment Authority to investigate Fagersta school attack

Sweden’s Work Environment Authority will investigate the attack at Brinell School in Fagersta, SVT reports, citing Swedish Radio’s Ekot.

Eight reports have so far been submitted to the authority, including by the police authority and Fagersta municipality.

The Work Environment Authority also investigated the attack at Campus Risbergska in Örebro in February 2025.

“We now have the experience we gathered from that incident, and how we handled it can also be used now,” work environment inspector Lena Sundstedt told Ekot.

The authority is waiting before carrying out an inspection at the school because only three weeks have passed since the attack.

A 17-year-old girl was killed and three boys were injured in the attack on August 21.
