Hellisheiði reopens after three-car crash

Hellisheiði has reopened after being closed eastbound following a three-car collision, mbl.is reported. Police closed the mountain road earlier on Saturday.

Twelve people were travelling in the vehicles. One person was taken to the Health Institution of South Iceland with minor injuries.

Þorsteinn M. Kristinsson, chief police superintendent in South Iceland, said the low sun had blinded drivers when the crash occurred.
