mbl.is reports that the proposed 2027 budget provides for nearly 1.7 trillion króna in state expenditure next year, setting the stage for heated parliamentary debate over the far-reaching legislation.
Grímur Grímsson, a member of parliament for Viðreisn, and Stefán Vagn Stefánsson, a member of parliament for the Progressive Party, will discuss the proposal on Spursmál, a programme on mbl.is. They take sharply different views of the measures, including proposed tax increases affecting banks, the tourism industry and drivers.
The programme will also feature Alexandra Jóhannesdóttir, mayor of Suðurnesjabær, and Vilhjálmur Árnason, mayor of Reykjanesbær. They will discuss the week’s news, the results of the PISA assessment and other issues.
Spursmál begins at 14:00 and is available on mbl.is. The programme will also be available on Spotify and YouTube afterwards.
