Ólavur Olsen appointed head of Tórshavn music school

Ólavur Olsen has been appointed head of Tórshavnar Musikkskúla, Tórshavn’s music school, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

Olsen, 49, trained as a musician and music teacher at the Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium, with trumpet as his main instrument. He completed a diploma in leadership at Glasir in 2022.

He has worked as a music teacher in the music school system since 2004 and has been deputy head of Tórshavnar Musikkskúla since 2016. In recent years, he has served as the school’s acting head and will now take over as head.
