The investigation into a violent crime that led to a noticeable police operation in Keimola, Vantaa, has progressed. In April, police received an emergency call to an apartment where they discovered three seriously injured adults. The call was made by a bystander. One of the injured was a woman under fifty years old, suspected of inflicting violence on the other two individuals.

The victims are identified as the woman’s mother and brother, confirmed by Jan Aarnisalo, the head of the Central Criminal Police investigation. The police had previously stated that the suspect and victims were from the same family and there were no suspicions of involvement from outsiders.

It is suspected that the 48-year-old woman drugged her victims and began her violent actions while they were defenseless.

“The weapon used was a sharp object or objects, and drugs were also used. The victims were defenseless,” Aarnisalo stated.

In addition to two attempted murders, the woman is suspected of committing two serious payment frauds targeted at the same victims.

“The amounts are in tens of thousands of euros,” Aarnisalo said. The police have yet to comment on the motive of the crime.

“It’s the sum of many coincidences that led to this so-called final solution. But everyone survived, thanks to an outsider and the arrival of the police,” Aarnisalo said.

The suspect has admitted to the method used in the acts. The Eastern Uusimaa District Court imprisoned the woman, who is suspected of attempted murder, shortly after the violent incident. She remains in custody. The investigation is in its final stages and is expected to be handed over to the prosecutor soon.
