Copenhagen police arrest man in connection with shooting death in Nørrebro
Copenhagen police have arrested a 29-year-old Danish man in connection with the shooting death of a 43-year-old individual last Thursday in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. The preliminary court hearing for the suspect began at 3:30 PM behind closed doors.
The charges indicate that the man is accused of shooting the 43-year-old in the head. Additionally, he faces charges for attempted murder of a 42-year-old female cyclist, who was also shot during the incident but is reported to be out of danger. He is also charged with illegal possession of a firearm in a public place.
Authorities believe the shooting is part of an ongoing violent conflict between two gang factions. One of the gangs operates in Indre Nørrebro and near Holmbladsgade in Amager. The other gang is primarily managed from abroad, which means it does not have a permanent base of operations. Further updates are expected.
