One person was taken to an emergency department after a collision between a car and an electric scooter, mbl.is reports. The person’s condition was not known.

A driver stopped by police was found to be under the influence of drugs and was carrying pepper spray. The driver was charged with a weapons offence.

The incidents were among those recorded in a police log covering the period from 5pm Thursday to 5am Friday. Eight people remained in police holding cells early Friday.

Police also received a report of a break-in in the city centre, with someone said to be inside the premises. When officers arrived, they found that the person was an employee of a security company, not a burglar.

Two shop thefts were reported. One case was resolved at the scene, while the other, which involved a break-in, remains under investigation.

In total, four drivers were stopped after being found under the influence of drugs, while two others were stopped for speeding.
