Fire contained in Hafnarfjörður apartment building

Firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out in an apartment in a multi-unit building on Vallarbraut in Hafnarfjörður at around 6 p.m. on Thursday, mbl.is reports.

Sigurjón Hendriksson, a watch manager with the Capital Area Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed the incident to mbl.is.

Firefighters successfully contained the blaze to the apartment, preventing it from spreading to other units. The apartment was empty when crews arrived, and no one was taken to hospital.
