Truck crashes into Copenhagen bridge, blocking traffic

Traffic under Knippelsbro bridge in Copenhagen towards Christianshavn is blocked after a lorry hit the bridge, DR reports.

The lorry struck a sign gantry, which has partly fallen onto the road. Both the gantry and the lorry must be removed, police said in an update.

The lane out of central Copenhagen towards Christianshavn is closed, including the cycle lane. Pedestrians, cyclists and drivers must use alternative routes.

The accident was reported to police shortly after 7.30am. A heavy sign hanging from the bridge must be removed before the lorry can be taken away, and police have not said when the route will reopen.
