Jonas Falk, who has been sentenced to a total of 14 years in prison for exceptionally serious drug offences, will be returned to Spain to take part in a new trial, SVT reports.
The 53-year-old was initially arrested in Spain in August 2024 and was later extradited to Sweden for trial. One condition set by Spain was that he would be returned if he was needed in other Spanish legal proceedings.
That is now the case. Falk is expected to take part in a major drug trial during the autumn and into the winter, Lars Lindman of the Swedish prosecutor’s office told news agency TT.
Falk was sentenced this summer to 14 years in prison in a case linking him to extensive cocaine shipments from South America. When the appeal hearing begins, he will participate by video link from Spain.
He will also serve his Swedish prison sentences in Spain.
