An incident occurred today in Höfn, Hornafjörður, where police swiftly responded to a situation involving a high-speed boat. Initial reports suggested that large packages found aboard the vessel could contain illegal drugs, prompting a significant police presence in the area.
Two crew members were taken in for questioning as part of the investigation, with packages weighing around 100 kilos sent to Reykjavik for further analysis. However, the findings revealed that the contents were not drugs but rather a type of sand. The two crew members have since been released and are free to go.
