Unintended exchange airs during city council meeting

An unintended exchange was broadcast during a city council meeting on Tuesday, mbl.is reported.

The meeting began at noon and resumed after a break in the afternoon. Just before the discussion restarted, while a still image was displayed on screen, a woman’s voice could be heard during the live stream.

“Hello. Were everyone called up at Kringlan or something?” she said.

A male voice that sounded very similar to city representative Bjarni Fritzson of the Independence Party then said: “Rúnar Freyr, Rúnar Freyr. Your mother is standing outside Hagkaup and waiting for you.”

The man and several others laughed. The speaker, who was likely Bjarni Fritzson, then said it was a fairly good point.

It was unclear what the exchange concerned, but the conversation was apparently not intended to be broadcast. mbl.is published a recording of the exchange.
