A greenhouse and an abandoned house caught fire in Seinäjoki on Tuesday evening, Yle reported. Both buildings are expected to be completely destroyed, according to Henri Pajander, the on-duty fire officer with the South Ostrobothnia Rescue Department.
The buildings were burning on Vaasantie, near Rytmikorjaamo. The fire was largely under control before 8 p.m.
A bystander said the fire was at its most intense at around 6 p.m., when only the frames of one burning building remained standing. Smoke was particularly heavy in the early stages.
Traffic on Vaasantie continued almost normally, although police directed vehicles. Fire officers classified the blaze as medium-sized, and the wind pushed it away from the road.
No one was injured, and the fire did not pose a danger to bystanders.
