Five stores in the Kringlan shopping center in Reykjavík have reopened following a fire that occurred earlier this summer. Currently, ten stores remain closed and are not expected to open until the end of September or the beginning of October. A total of 29 stores had to be shut down due to the fire, which broke out in mid-June while contractors were working on roofing materials. The Housing and Construction Authority has initiated preparations for a campaign focused on safety procedures for roofing installations, addressing the number of fires that have arisen.
