Faroese prime minister meets EU chief during Nuuk talks

The Faroe Islands’ prime minister has held talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during a series of meetings in Nuuk, according to KVF.

Beinir Johannesen also attended a meeting yesterday with the leaders of Greenland and Denmark. The talks focused on better access for Faroese products to the European Union market.

The three countries in the Danish Realm are meeting in the Cooperation Council on Tuesday.

KVF’s programme Breddin will report from Greenland and feature former Prime Minister Jóannes Eidesgaard and Niels Winther, director of the Faroese business organisation Vinnuhúsið. The programme begins at 10am.
