A significant police operation took place yesterday in Höfn, Hornafjörður, following suspicions of drug smuggling involving a boat that had arrived from the Faroe Islands. Initial concerns arose during customs checks on board a leisure craft, prompting local law enforcement to investigate potential illegal activity related to narcotics.

Despite the extensive efforts involving both local police and customs authorities, no illegal substances were found in the packages inspected. The items were transported to Reykjavik for further examination, which ultimately confirmed the absence of any drugs.

Two crew members were questioned regarding the incident, but they have since been released. Authorities remain vigilant, and the police continue to monitor potential drug-related activities in the region.
